The Happiest Ending - Chapter 4
Chapter 4: The High Roller Room
Just one more shift.
I woke with a start.
For a second, half a second, I thought I was home. In my bed. In my room. Not wearing lace. Not plugged.
But then I moved, and the rustle of satin reminded me.
So did the soreness between my legs. The gentle ache in my thighs. The distant, humming echo of something still there inside me.
The bed wasn’t mine. The nightie clinging to my body wasn’t mine either. And the faint shimmer of dried lip gloss on the pillowcase…definitely not mine.
One more shift. That’s what they said.
If I could just get through tonight, I’d be home tomorrow. In boxers. In sweatpants. No heels, no earpieces, no lube.
No mirrors that made me question who I was becoming.
I sat up slowly. The sheets slipped from my shoulders, revealing pale blue straps. My thighs were bare. My chest still faintly marked from fingers and friction. My name tag “LIP SERVICE TRAINEE” was clipped to the nightstand, almost like a joke.
I reached for it. Held it in my hand.
They’d said I was trained. They’d said I was ready. But they also said this was temporary. A debt repaid.
Just one more shift.
I could make it through anything for one more night… couldn’t I?
A knock.
Not loud. Just soft, practiced. Followed by the quiet click of the door opening without permission.
She stepped inside, heels clicking like punctuation.
Trainer. Handler. Mistress. I still didn’t know what to call her, but I always knew when to listen.
She didn’t smile this time. She simply held a hanger draped in soft plastic and said, “Change of plans.”
I blinked. “What do you mean?”
“One of the girls is sick,” she said. “And a regular booked the high roller room.”
My stomach twisted. “Wait, me?”
She nodded. “You’ve completed your training and they want to see how you respond under pressure.”
“I—I thought I was done after tonight.”
She raised one eyebrow. “And tonight isn’t over, sugar.”
I swallowed.
“You’ll do fine,” she said. “As long as you remember one thing.”
I looked up.
“In the high roller room,” she said calmly, “obedience is everything.”
